Just because we were on a hiatus, doesn’t mean we didn’t continue looking for some of the freshest tunes around. One of the artists I recently grew to be a huge fan of is TYR, the Boulder-based dubstep producer. His style of heavy, glitchy bass lines is just the type of dubstep I prefer. His newest release, Stimulate EP, is a four track remix compilation, featuring the likes of Fleetwood Mac and Jack Johnson. After just one listen through it I can already tell its going to be in my constant shuffle of music. Like a lot of music we share on here, the EP is completely free. VVS1 – The Shining EP

Last week they dropped their first single, and now VVS1 is back with their debut release The Shining EP. Their approach to dubstep and hip-hop is simple, match the top-notch production from Mike Irish with the impeccable flow and lyricism of Dean Swift and Soupa. The result is truly remarkable. Bassnectar – Freestyle Mixtape

For a couple of months now, Lorin aka Bassnectar, has been talking about his newest mixtape he planned on dropping. A lot of time and effort went into the Freestyle Mixtape, and it is finally here for all of us to enjoy. It’s a free download as well which makes it even better. As we all await Derek to drop his first album in over two years, a new track of his has surfaced today. ‘So Bright’ follows in the steps of his previous releases, with a glitchy bass sound that compliments his amazing use of samples. I wouldn’t call his music dubstep, but he is a genius when it comes to bass music. There is a reason he is my favorite artist. and this track is evidence why.
