Pretty Lights – So Bright

As we all await Derek to drop his first album in over two years, a new track of his has surfaced today. ‘So Bright’ follows in the steps of his previous releases, with a glitchy bass sound that compliments his amazing use of samples. I wouldn’t call his music dubstep, but he is a genius when it comes to bass music. There is a reason he is my favorite artist. and this track is evidence why. Make sure to download the song below and enjoy!

[SF PREMIERE] Jackson Whalan – FIRE (Instrumental EP)

We have been all about Technicolor Lenses since we were introduced to them a couple of years ago by a mutual friend. A a three-piece live electronic band they put on an amazing live performance that should be seen by all. They all produce their own music from them to play live as well. Emcee/producer Jackson Whalan has been perfecting his craft recently, and just released a new instrumental EP entitled FIRE. Right from the get go ‘Burning Spirits’ hits you hard in the face, with a beat that would make Lorin Ashton proud. He always remixes ‘The Circle of Life’ from The Lion King to perfection. This is a must download for any bass music fan. Grab yourself a copy for free. Download, jam and enjoy!

Artifakts – Straight Forward

It’s time for me to introduce you to an electronic hip-hop duo I’ve grown to enjoy in the past few months. Coming off killer sets at StereoTerra and Summer Set, Artifakts is poised to make a name for themselves in the electronic music scene. Their newest release is a chilled out hip-hop flavored beat that we at Sound Forecast really dig. We will be teaming up with Artifakts for some exclusive content in the near future, so be on the lookout for that. For now turn up the bass and enjoy this gem!

Big Gigantic – Let’s Go!

With their first ever headlining show at Red Rocks, Big Gigantic released a new heater that coincides with their Rowdytown video. ‘Let’s Go!’ has a heavy bass line, that works well with the organic sax sounds provided by Dom Lalli. These guys never cease to amaze me with their new tracks, as well as their live performances. If you are in the Colorado area I highly suggest checking them at the rocks. Peep the video above, and download the track below. Enjoy!

VVS1 – Shine On

Since I first heard ‘Pearl Harbor’ earlier this year, I knew that VVS1 would do big things. With their debut EP The Shining due to be released very soon, they dropped the first single off it. ‘The Shine’ is a straight heater, with Mike Irish producing one of the best beats I’ve heard in a while. It’s heavy, in your face, and compliments the flow of Dean Swift and Soupa. These guys are blending dubstep and hip-hop flawlessly. Turn up the bass and enjoy!
